Dennis, Sr. and I watch Laura every day while her Mom and Dad work and she is such a fun, beautiful little girl!! She is always saying funny things as well as Aiden and Chase...well, ALL of them!! lol One day last week, Laura came in a TUTU and it was ripped, the tulle was off on several places! Laura asked me if I could fix it and I said of course!! So I got my sewing maching out and was getting ready to fix it and Laura said: "My Dad doesn't know how to 'soar', and I said "SEW?", and she said: "SO WHAT?"...'Grandfather' and I laughed and laughed!! Every day spent with our Grandchildren is so PRECIOUS and PRICELESS to us!!!

The thing that is the most fun that I haven't told you about are our names in our family!! WHO: Dennis, SR.; WHOM or LOVE: Noma; WHAT: Staci; WHATEVER: Mike; BY THE WAY: Cindi; Somebody ELSE: Dee Dee; NOBODY: Amber; NOBODY ELSE: Jimmy; SOMEBODY:Dennis, Jr.; SOMEONE: Elizabeth; ANYBODY: Marc; ANYONE: Leilani; YOU: Chris and ME: Michelle. If I am leaving any person out, I APOOLIGIZE!!! We lived in Alaska and one day Dennis, Sr. came home from work and said: "Somebody needs to do the dishes...Dennis, Jr. got up and went and did the dishes"...hence: SOMEBODY!! The next day Amber said: "WHO left their dishes on the table? Dennis, Sr. got up and said he had so he became "WHO"!! So began the names that bring a LOT of LAUGHTER and difficulty carrying on a conversation!! If there is a conversation going on and you almost always use the names in a conversation, it gets quite funny!! You find a mess in the house and you say: "WHO made this mess?" and my husband says: "NO, I didn't make the mess!!" Or you say: "NOBODY did the dishes" and Amber says, well, thanks for giving "ME" the credit, but I didn't do them"...then Chris says they did give "ME" the credit cuz I DID do them!! It is impossible to have a normal conversation in our home, we always use the names wrong and if our kids are here they bring up the fact that we aren't using the words correctly!! I have said: "I LOVE YOU" to one of them and they say: "OK, I know YOU love CHRIS, but do YOU love me??" So then I said: "Chris probably does love himself, he is supposed to and I am sure he loves his brother, Dennis, Jr.!!" See how it is hard to have a normal conversation?? LOL LOL I LOVE MY FAMILY!! Just sooooooooooo much fun!!!

We have been waiting to hear from Marc to tell us their baby girl was coming to join Charly and Kavika and love being in this family!! Well, April 15, 2010, Marc texted me and told me they were at the hospital and they were having a baby that morning!! We were all excite and Dennis and I had planned to get our things together as soon as we heard because we had planned on going to Ozark, MO to help Marc and Leilani with Charly and Kavika and then help Leilani when she came home from the hospital! Well, then we received a phone call saying that Leilani had to have a C-Section!! WOW!! What a surprise...poor Leilani...!! A little while later Marc called to tell us we had a new Granddaughter and she weighed 6 lbs. 9 oz. and was 19 in. long!! Both Leilani and Sariah Tinei were both doing great!! Dennis and I got things ready and left for MO on Saturday! We arrived at 2:30 am and saw our new Sariah and she is BEAUTIFUL!! Leilani looked as Gorgeous as ever even after having a baby and a C-Section to boot!! We visited with Marc and Leilani for a while then we went to bed at 3:00am. I told Marc to let Charly and Kavika wake us up if they got up before us!! Well Charly came running into the room and was so excited to see Grandfather and Grandma had made it!! Of course Grandma had 'surprises for everyone!! Kavika was happy to see us also!! We chatted with them on the computer with the webcam so he knew who we were!! We had a wonderful time at their home and enjoyed our Grandchildren so much!! OH...and Sariah Tinei is #20 Grandchild for us!!! It was so hard to leave to come back home...goodbye's are always hard for me!! However we do have Grandchildren in Colorado Springs to come home to...now, we need to go to Friendswood, TX to see our Grandchildren there!!

We were not able to attend our Joshua's Graduation from Basic Training in the Air Force, but we were kept up to speed with messages and pictures from Staci which we really appreciate!! We are so proud of our Joshua and his accomplishments with the Air Force so far!! He has done very well and will now be going on for more training at Egland Air Force Base in Florida and we wish him the best of luck in all he does with his new adventure in the Air Force!!

We were able to attend Aiden and Chase's Soccer Game at 9:00am Saturday, April 8, 2010, they did a great job on their team!! It is fun to watch their games!! Then we went to Luke's Flag Football games at 10:00 and 11:00 and that Luke is a fast boy!! He is a great football player, he is able to get those Flags so easily!! Then we were at 2 Soccer games, yes, this was ALL in the same day!! Playing Soccer these 2 games were: Luke, Laura, Aiden, Chase and Adalee, we had so much fun watching them, they were all really great and did really well. Chase, Aiden and Luke were able to score some goals, Lillyan and Laura did really well, they might not have scored a goal but they were hustling around the field like crazy and tried really hard to score a goal!! It is so much fun to watch our Grandchildren playing Sports and I can't imagine not being able to go and watch them!! We also go to Dennis and Betsy's Softball games...they are very good at hitting the ball, catching the ball and being fun to watch!! Dennis is good at getting Home Runs and we love going to their games also!! Wish we could be around our other Grandkids and kids to watch them at their activities that they do, and live closer to all of them that live in a land, far, far away!!
Sorry I am not very good at this blogging thing...it is probably boring but I just am not up with technology in changing the lay outs and stuff, don't know how to put music in here either...I will try to make it more interesting...wish me luck!!

I was in Wyoming all last week and my Sister, Betty isn't doing very well, healthwise! Very sad!

While I was there, my Sister, Jeannie, her Grandson, Jesse and I were going to some stores and everytime Jesse would say: "I want...I want...I want...". We went to Lander one day and had his Mother with us and we went to a restaurant to eat! Jeannie told Tina: "I have a new name for Jesse...I want, I want cuz everytime we go into a store he wants something and he says I want, I want..." and Jesse immediatly said: "yeah...didn't get...didn't get"!!

We were also going to our other Sister, Kays to see her 'Critter Garden', lots of animal statues. On the way, Jesse said: " I wonder if she has a Rascal?" I said: "Jesse, what is a Rascal?" He didn't answer me, so I repeated it..."Jesse, what is a Rascal?" He said: "Just because that is my favorite doesn't mean I have to know what it is"!! lol lol He is a riot!! Art Linkletter hit the nail on the head when he said: "Kids say the darndest things!!" later...love ya!!

Trip to Friendswood, Texas

Dennis and I were able to go to Friendswood, Texas with Cindi, Karam, Aiden and Chase to attend Cooper's Baptism! We had a wonderful time with them and the Baptism was awesome!! Cooper is such a wonderful 8 year old and we are very blessed to have him in our lives!! We got to be there for a Birthday celebration for him and he had a Jumping Castle with water running in it and the kids had a great time and that night some of the adults had fun in the Castle!! We went to Galveston and went on a Ferry to an Island and had fun on the Ferry, we got to see Dolphins swimming and we had a great time!! Then we got to go put our feet in the ocean for a few minutes before we had to go take Jessica to work!! We always have an AWESOME time when we go to Friendswood to see Dee Dee, Todd,Jordyn, Elli and Cooper, Amber, Jimmy and Jessica!! It was very hot and humid there but we still enjoyed being with our family that we don't get to see very often!! Thanks, Cindi and Karam for allowing us to go with you to TX!!

My sister, Jeannie and I and her Grandson, Jesse 6 years old, were going shopping and went into more than one store and he was ALWAYS saying? "I want" this and "I want that"...Then, Jeannie, Jesse, Tina(his Mom) and I were at a restaurant and Jeannie was telling Tina that he had a new name: "I WANT" and she told her why...and without hesitation at all, Jesse said: "didn't get...didn't get"...we were laughing so hard, it was really funny!! My sister, Betty isn't doing all that well, but she did get out of the hospital and looks better...she still can't walk though, they never have decided why!! Bye til later!!

Sleepovers at Grandma's House!!

Well, we are having another 'sleepover' at Grandma's house tonight...Madison, Aiden and Chase!! They had a sleepover last night also!! We watch a movie then it is off to bed!! They sleep in the living room and tonight there was a 'small' problem over a little blue pillow! Maddi asked for it first and Aiden asked for it also! Aiden did not want to go to bed without the little blue pillow!! We have 2 of them but could only find one! After looking for the pillow, I asked Aiden if he would settle for another pillow...he didn't want another pillow!! So I saw a blanket that he liked and I folded it and said: "How about this for a pillow, Aiden?" He smiled and said: "Oh sure, that would be great, thanks Grandma"...laid right down and 'that was that'!! Everyone was happy!!! WHEW!!! And little did they know...Grandma was the happiest!!! lol lol 'When Grandma is happy...everyone is happy!!!' lol lol till next time...love you all!!

Today is our Grandson, Kavika's 1st Birthday, and we want to tell him HAPPY BIRTHDAY and Grandfather and I LOVE HIM so very much and wish we could be with him!! I know how special the 1st Birthday is for BABIES from the Islands and we wish he could have been home with all of us to celebrate with him on his special day!! We can only hope that we will get to see them all soon and he is very special to us!! My daughter, Staci, just called me and said that she and Madison were in their van and Madison had her Magnidoodle and said she was going to spell "BOX"...Staci said: "OK!" Maddy said: "buh...buh...buh...B" and Staci said: "yes"...and Maddy wrote a B; then she said: "ah...ah...ah...O" and Staci said: "yes" and Maddy wrote an O; then Maddy said: "ex...ex...ex...X" and wrote and X and spelled 'BOX'...Staci said: "Maddy that was soooo GOOD"...Maddy said: "I think I will stop being a Kid and be a 'Word Teacher'!!! LOL LOL Out of the mouths of Babes!! LOL LOL

Aiden and Chase are now playing T-Ball and are on the "A's" Team and it is so much fun to watch these t-ball teams play!! When in the field, the boys like to play with the dirt, you know...throwing it in the air, just being boys, the ball will get hit by the other team and come rolling right by Aiden and Chase and they just continue playing in the dirt!! May I add that they are the 'youngest' on the team!! It is a blast to watch them hit the ball and then run. When Chase hits the ball, he has to make sure that we all see he has hit the ball then he runs to first base! Then Aiden is up next and he hits the ball after about three tries, hey...he hit the ball on the first try a couple times...he is getting better!! Well...it is fun when they run into 'home' plate...Chase runs in and 'jumps' on the plate and stands there and looks at 'us...his family' to make sure we saw him and we cheer for him!! The Aiden runs to third...his arms flailing all around and his feet doing the same then it is his turn to run to 'home plate' and he does the same...not in any hurry to get there!! They are a riot to watch and I could watch them all day, every day!!

Then we got to watch Luke playing 'Coach Pitch' Baseball!! He, of course, gets to practice with the Coach a LOT since the Coach is his Dad, Dennis, Jr. He is a very good player. He should have gotten a "HOME Run" but he only got to run to first base because they don't get to run all the bases yet I guess! He is very good in the outfield also!! He looks and acts like a real ball player...hmmmm...could I be a little biased?? Ya think?? No...not at all!! lol I'm just a Grandma after all, watching one of the BEST players on the field of 'Coach Pitch' Players!! I LOVE to watch my Grandchildren play in sports!!

We also got to watch Madison play in her Soccer games and talk about ADORABLE!! SHE had to have been the CUTEST SOCCER PLAYER on the field!! She had a PINK BOW in her hair, PINK SOCKS, PINK SOCCER BALL and about the CUTEST FACE of ALL!! I hope the scouts for College were there because how could they resist this player?? They couldn't!!

I haven't posted for a very long time! I have been to Friendswood, Texas, and Riverton, Wyoming since I was last in here and I haven't even told anyone how much fun I had on those trips! The trip to Texas was a lot of mixed emotions becausea lot of things happened besides helping Dee Dee when she was going to have her surgery!! Dennis and I went to help with our wonderful Grandchildren which is always a BLAST because they are TONS of fun and WONDERFUL and we don't get to see them very often so when we do get to see them of course I have to spoil them as MUCH as I possibly can!! We got to go have lunch with Jordyn and Amber at the High School and that was tons of fun!! They are both hilarious and fun to be with!! Both very popular and is fun to see how many people love our girls!! We got to go to Perry's Restaurant to get the food and see our Gorgeous Jessica in her working environment and see how much she is loved and adored by all who work with her and by those who come in to eat! She is very loved and we are very proud of her for being such a wonderful person that she is!! Our Jordyn is very talented and is in LIGHTING in the School Plays and does a FANTASTIC Job and everyone tells her how AWESOME she is and what an AWESOME job she does for them on the stage! Amber helps with the sets and so does Jimmy and I think Dee Dee and Todd also help too, I think it must be a 'Family Affair'...they all support everything that goes on in Friendswood I think!! We also got to go have lunch with our Elli and Cooper and that was a lot of fun also to join them in their school and sit with them in their cafeteria!! It was a ton of fun to be in Friendswood and share in the lives of the BAKERS, SMITHS and OSGARD and the things they do and the FUN they have!! The weather cooperated with us while we were there because it was cloudy most of the time we were there so we didn't roast to death while we were in Texas!! I also have to mention Macks, the BAKERS PUPPY because he would be SAD if I didn't tell you what a cute little guy he is and what a spoiled little guy he is!! When Dee Dee came home from the hospital, he was like a little child that was excited that his 'mommie' was home!! He would not get very far away from her, I mean, not even more than 6" away from her and most of the time he had to be 'on or near' her lap!! It was the cutest thing to see!! Dee Dee and I had a big laugh over it because he was like a 'little kid' that 'missed his mommie' so much and was glad to have her home!! On a sadder note, we lost two of our Nephews in death while we were in Texas. :( My sister, Elaine's, son, Les died, I think he had a Hernia rupture he was only 44 I think...somewhere around there. Then, my husbands Brother, Mike, his son, Mike, Jr. died also, he was only in his 30's. We know that they are both in a better place and don't have to go through this life's trials any longer. They both are loved and we miss them very much!! We continue to have Birthday celebrations here in Colorado with Grandchildren and also Graduations...our Joshua just Graduated from Mesa Ridge High School and will go to UCCS here in Colorado Springs and will go into Engineering. It is hard to believe he is out of High School, he and Jessica both and now she will be 20 on the 15th of June!! WOW!! Where does the time go?? Well, I guess I have bored you long enough, as I have looked back, this hasn't even been real interesting for you to read...sorry, maybe my next one will be a bit more interesting!! Wait a minute, of course it was interesting, I was talking about my children and grandchildren and I doubt that there is anyone that would argue with me that it wasn't interesting...right?? LOL LOL OK... now that we got that straight!! One can only hope that it will be a little more funny??!! I will try to spice it up a little more next time!!

So...Dennis, Jr. called me today and told me a funny story about our Luke, who is 5 for those of you who might not know him!! Jim and Carolyn Colvin recently lost their beloved pet (child) of 14 years I think, Maggie was her name! She was a beautiful Red Golden Retriever. Maggie was part of the family and we sure are sorry that she is gone...the family is devastated, especially Jim and Carolyn!! Our love and sympathy sure goes out to them! Well, today they had a 'Memorial' for Maggie and when they were leaving, Carolyn gave everyone a picture of Maggie to keep. Our little Luke looked at the picture and said: "There's Maggie and now she is gone to 'Doggie Hell'...where he came up with that I don't know...lol Then he said: "I mean 'Doggie Heaven'...lol lol Evidently this morning Dennis, Jr. said something, he doesn't remember what he said...is that convenient or what?? lol just kidding!! And Luke said to his dad: 'you suck' and Dennis said: "What? Where did you learn that?' Luke said: "You know where I learned it"...kids these days!! lol lol

OK...so today I was finishing a Wedding Cake for a dear friend that was getting married tonight, and Hailey, Aiden and Chase were watching me put the Roses that I made on the cakes! Aiden looked at the Roses on the cakes and looked at me...remember he and Chase are 3 years old...and Aiden said: "Grandma...you are amazing"...I didn't think he even knew the word 'amazing' let alone use it in a sentence!! How cute is that??!! Grandfather asked him: "What does 'amazing' mean??" and Chase said...without even blinking and eye..."doing good"...how's that for our very SMART 3 year old Twin Grandsons??!! You NEVER know what KIDS are going to say next!! I LOVE all of my 19 Grandchildren!! Course I love my 14 Kids too...7 kids with spouses!!!

Madison told her Mom today that "SPA-GHITTO's eat our blood"...of course that is Mosquitto's...LOL Not sure where that came from but it is CUTE!!

Chase and Aiden wanted to 'sleep-over' at Grandma's house last night! Chase said: "Grandma, I am hungry"...I said: "didn't you eat dinner?" His immediate response without even giving any thought to it..."No! My Mom doesn't feed us REAL FOOD!!" I said: "She doesn't?" He said: "Nope, that is why I am hungry". So when Cindi came to pick him up...I asked her: "Why don't you feed my Grandsons REAL FOOD??" She looked at me like: 'what do you mean?' I said: "well, Chase says you don't feed them REAL FOOD"...she said: "as opposed to FAKE FOOD?" I said: "I guess so...but you need to start feeding them REAL FOOD!" She replied: "I guess so!!" We had a good laugh over that!! We were watching T.V. then all of a sudden Chase said: "Grandma, I need to see my Mom"...so he called Cindi and she came and got him! Aiden said he wanted to stay!! About an hour later...Aiden said: "Grandma, I want to go to my home cuz that is where my Mom and my Chase are"...so I called Cindi and told her that I would bring him home!! SO MUCH for the sleepovers!! They do well when there are other Grandchildren having a 'sleep over' at Grandma's...hmmmmmmm I think maybe that means that Grandfather and Grandma aren't quite as entertaining as they should be?? What do you think?? lol

Cindi and the boys were over at our house today. The boys were jumping on the sofa and Cindi said: "Are you guys allowed to jump on Grandma's furniture??" They said: "NO" and Chase kept jumping and Cindi said: "Chase I told you to quit jumping on Grandma's couch" and the reply from Chase was: " Mom, you didn't count to 3"!!! Sorry Cindi, but he was right...you didn't count to 3!!! lol Art Linkletter was right when he said: "KIDS SAY THE DARNDEST THINGS!!!"

Chase has learned to use Cindi's phone to call 'Grandma and Grandfather'...we get probably 8-10 calls a day...he is so cute!! The phone rings and I answer it...pretty much knowing it is Chase. I say: "Hello" and he says: "Hi Grandma, this is Chase, what ya doin?" I say: "not much, Chase, what are you doing?" He then says: "want to talk to my Mom??" He is so excited that he knows how to call 'Grandma' on the phone!! I am excited too just to see what he is going to tell me!!

I just have to share with all of you because you never know what they are going to say next!! LOL

NEWSFLASH!!!

My Aiden and Chase had a 'sleep over' at Grandma's house last night and stayed the whole night!!! YAY!!!! They have tried before a few times but just couldn't do it and had to go home!! Hailey was sleeping over because she has a late start at school today and I had to go to the Family History Center so she went to Cindi's until I was through! When I went to pick her up, Madison was at Cindi's and she wanted to come to sleep over too. Then Aiden and Chase decided that they wanted to 'sleep over' at Grandma's too!! Cind and I thought: 'yeah right'...lol!! I asked them: "are you going to stay the whole night?" They said: "Yes"...they always have good intentions but they are only '3' and is is HARD to stay away from 'MOM' at that age!! So...I am soooooooooo excited that my twin Grandsons were able to 'sleep over' the whole night!!! Chase came in to my bedroom at 3:29am and said: " he wanted to go home" and I said: "but your Mom will have to come get you and it is the middle of the night, so why don't you just sleep with Grandma?" He said: "OK...and climbed in the bed and fell right back to sleep!!! I am sooooooooooo proud of them!! I just asked Aiden if "he is excited that he 'slept over' at Grandma's the whole night?" He said: "Chase isn't waking up??" lol He was concerned about his brother...I said: "he is just tired' and Aiden said: "OH...we slept over all night at Grandma's?" I said: "YEP" and he clapped his hands and said: "YEA...we did it!!!" Our boys are 'growing up'...:) Like I said in an earlier post: "I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE having 'sleep overs' with my Grandchildren"...especially when it is a 'FIRST TIME'!!! I just had to 'share' our EXCITING NEWS with you all!!!

I was fixing dinner so it would be ready for Dennis, Sr. when he came home from Reffing BB! The phone rang and it was Chase...he said: "Grandma, are you coming for dinner?" I said:"I don't know, am I supposed to??" He said: "You wanna talk to my Mom?" I said: "Sure". Cindi got on the phone and said: "Apparently Chase has his mind set on Grandma coming to dinner". I told her I wasn't sure if I could...we hung up!! The phone rang...it was Chase..."Grandma dinner is ready for you". I said: "it is??" He said "yep" then Cindi got on the phone and said: "We can't say the Blessing on the food until 'Grandma' gets here"...so, I went to their house for dinner!!! Those boys really love to have Grandma and Grandfather come to their house or them come to our house!! Delicious dinner...Cindi!! Thanks!! Love you guys!!

I am super excited!! A Missionary from when we were in Alabama just found me in Facebook...although I didn't know I was 'lost'!! lol Elder Rick Vandenhole found me in FB and I had been looking for him for years!! He asked me about Elder Ed Loggins and I told him I had been looking for him for years also!! The very next day I got a message from Rick saying he had found ED in facebook also!! Ed didn't know he was lost either!! lol So, I got an email from Ed this morning letting me know where he is and how he and his family are!! YAY!!! for Facebook and being reconnected with precious friends and family that you thought you lost!!! Well...I didn't think I had lost 'family' but now I can keep up with them in Facebook, too bad we get busy with our lives and don't keep in touch!! But, it seems I'm never too busy for Facebook and this blog!! At least people can find me easier??!!

Chase called me this morning to see if I wanted to come watch "Madagascar 2" with them!! I told him maybe later!! Talk to ya soon, Noma

I love having 'sleepovers' with my Grandchildren! We usually have one every weekend, Emilee, Kathryn, Hailey and Madison! There have been a few times when Chase and Aiden want to have a 'sleepover' with Grandma! We watch a movie, eat popcorn, talk about whatever they want to talk about. Things go GREAT and then the movie is over...then they want to have a 'sleepover' with their Mom!! I always try to talk them into staying with me but they are very persistent that they want their Mom. So, it is fun while it lasts...one day they will stay and 'sleep over' and that will be very exciting for me...espeicially!! One day maybe my Grandchildren in Texas and Missouri can come have 'sleepovers' with Grandma...that will be wonderful for me since I don't get to see them 'real' often!! I LOVE my Grandchildren...but I must say that the bumper sticker I have seen: "If I would have known Grandchildren would be so much fun I would have had them first" is NOT how I feel!! I wouldn't miss having my Children first cuz they have been and still are the 'HIGHLIGHT' of my life!! I LOVE being a Mother and a Grandma!! So...the 'sleepovers' will continue and the FUN will be the highlight of my life at the moment!! I LOVE to spoil my Grandchildren...what else does a Grandma have time to do??

Cindi, Aiden and Chase came to get me today to go walkng around Prospect Lake and I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth. I heard them outside the door and Chase said: "Where is Granma?? What is she thinking? We gotta go walking!!" Those boys can turn a really 'crummy' day into a day of 'sunshine' because they are such sweet, loving, tenderhearted boys!! Cindi...you are a wonderful Mom and you are doing an AMAZING job raising your boys!!! I love you all, Mom and Grandma

Missing my Parents!!

Today is the 46th Anniversary of my Father passing away! I was only 14 years old and it was pretty devastating!! I am so grateful to my Heavenly Father for the plan of salvation and knowing that "Families Are Forever". My mother passed away in 1977, 31 years ago Jan. 27th. It has been a long time since I lost them but it doesn't get any easier when Father's Day, Mother's Day and their birthdays come. I would pray that you all treat your parents with a lot of love and respect like my Children and Grandchildren treat me...they couldn't be more WONDERFUL!! I love my Children and Grandchildren "BIG MUCH"!!!

I have no idea of what I am doing but my daughter, Cindi, told me I could do this!! So, I don't want to disappoint her, so.....here I am!! I guess to begin...

Once upon a time there 12 Children born into a family in Wyoming! There were 4 boys died in their infancy and 8 children were left...I, being #12...this is my story!! I was born on 19 June, 1948... I know, I am a FOSSIL now!! Actually, Fossils are very interesting...and that is how my life has been...interesting!!

As I said, I was born on 19 June, 1948, in Casper, Wyoming to Earl Addison ST. JOHN and Alice Mae ANGELL. I had a brother, Robert Earl ST. JOHN, and 6 sisters: Patricia Mae, Elizabeth Lodema, Marjorie Lathelle, Ruth Elaine, Elsie Jeannette, Pearl Kay!! I don't have many memories of my life until I was about 7...I remember when I turned 7, my Father shared my Birthday for Father's Day. He had been Rabbit hunting and fell through the fence and shot himself in the shoulder and had to be hospitilized. I remember him coming home and had his arm in a sling, he had to have surgery on his shoulder. I think that was Saturday when he came home and the next day was Sunday, FATHER'S DAY, 19 June, yep, and MY birthday!! We shared a cake together and it was a happy day!! Then, I am not sure how long it was and my Dad had to have his arm amputated close to the elbow because he got gangrene in it. He, then received a hook...he could do amazing things with his hook! He could grab us kids by the clothes when we wouldn't listen!! LOL LOL (we loved it!!). My sister, Jeannie, broke her arm and had trouble tying her shoe, my dad had trouble tying his shoe, so...they helped each other tie their shoes...worked out well for each of them!! Our Gram lived with us and we all loved her to pieces!! I remember we moved a LOT around town, although I don't know why!!

I remember moving to a house on Jefferson...we loved the house. I think that Marjie and Elaine still lived at home. Marjie, Elaine, Jeannie, Kay and I had our rooms upstairs. We had a HUGE tree in the front yard that we loved climbing up to play on, it was right by our bedrooms. One night, there was a man looking in our window and we started screaming....all 5 of us...we probably woke the dead...lol. Our dad had been moving beds around and there was one in the hallway by our rooms. Our Dad came bounding up the stairs when he heard us scream and he tripped over the beds, knocked them down and made a LOUD crashing noise!! We were more concerned about our Dad than the guy out our window so we went rushing out to see if Daddy was O. K. He was and asked us why we were screaming and we told him and he got up and went and looked but the guy was gone...I don't suppose our screaming and our Dad making a crashing noise scared the guy off...but, he WAS gone!!

Jeannie, Kay and I had a desire to go to Church. So, the Church of The Open Bible was not far from us so we walked to Church every Sunday and enjoyed going. One night they had a REVIVAL and my sisters and I decided to go!! Well...as we were sitting there, the preacher was yelling, preaching I suppose,(lol) and the next thing Kay and I knew, Jeannie had gotten up and went to the Altar with others and knelt down and was saying things and some were rolling in the aisles...Kay and I got scared and got up and ran for the door!! We ran home and left our sister, Jeannie there by herself. Sorry, Jeannie!!!

I remember going to spend the night with our "Gram'...our Mother's Mother. We always had fun at her apartment. We were excited when she asked us to go empty her garbage!! There was a 'dummy waiter' type garbage disposal. We would open the lid and put the garbage bags in and then close the door and send the garbage down to the bottom, we just thought that was the coolest thing to do!! lol Gram's niece and her husband, Eunice and Bill RITCHIE lived down the hall from her. We loved going to visit them and watch her 'quilt', she had quite a few BLUE RIBBONS from quilts she had entered into the Fair!! I secretly wanted one of her quilts when I was older...but when she passed away, I have NO idea what ever happened to them!! :(

On Saturday mornings, we got to listen to SPARKY, on the radio, no televisions then...remember, I told you I am a FOSSIL?? lol We got to have 'KETTLE TEA' and toast for breakfast at Gram's house!! Kettle Tea was HOT WATER, Cream and Sugar to flavor it!!! GO FIGURE!!! lol ...but we loved it!!! Then we would walk to town to Walgreen's and have lunch, then we would walk to Woolworth's to shop. When we got outside Walgreen's to the light...they had just put in the WALK/DON'T signs. Well, the light turned green and we started walking across, we got to the middle and the sign turned to DON'T WALK!! Gram stopped...and would NOT go, we told her it was alright that we had to get to the other side...she said: "NO, the sign says: DON'T WALK and we aren't going against the law"!!!. The cars started honking for us to move...it was quite embarrassing for 9 and 10 year olds!!! lol lol It just happened that a policeman was at the light across from us...he saw us and drove to the middle of the intersection and got out of his car and came over to us. He asked what the problem was?? We told him that Gram wouldn't go against the light!! So he took a key and put it in the box by the light and turned it to WALK and held it till we got across...then turned it to the opposite side for us to WALK!! He then told Gram that it was alright to continue across even if it turned to don't walk, we needed to get out of the traffic!!! She was O. K. then and we have had quite a few laughs over that one!!

FLASHBACK......

When I was in 3rd grade I went to Roosevelt School and I loved my teacher, after all these years...I remember my teacher...her name was Miss Shaw then she married and her name was MRS. PARKS. My sister, Elaine was in the 6th Grade I think and she came home crying one day and told our Mom that the teacher had been hitting her fingers with a ruler because she was writing 'left handed' !! HOW mean can you get?? I have always wished I could write left handed!!

My sister and I were on the KTWO Fun Ranch that they had for kids. We got to watch cartoons and have cake and then they interviewed all the kids. They asked my sister her name, and how old she was, she told them Kay ST. JOHN and then they asked me my name and I said: Noma ST. JOHN...they said: "are you two sisters??" I said: "NO...we're just sisters!!" Everyone laughed really hard and I didn't know what that meant!! lol YES...NOW I do!!! lol lol
